Griff will move on and continue to explore the level the group is currently on.
Moving cautiously down the corridor Yomok notices that the floor lead to the next section looks odd
Yomok once again calls a halts to the party.
"Time for you shorty to have a look" muttered Yomok. as he also studied the floor in greater detail.
This is a stonework trap you feel It will collapse under your weight if you walk on it there is a 2 foot section right next to the wall that is completely safe. You continue down the corridor and it opens up into a large room. This chamber was obviously set up to accomodate the family of the Sea King if they had to hide away (Unfortunately, none of the family made it this far 70 years ago.) The large open area has had brick walls erected, dividing the chamber into ten 10 foot x 20 foot chambers. Each mini-chamber contains rotted cots and chairs, but no treasure, furniture, or weapons of worth.
You have now explored this whole level there is no visible door.
Looking at the rough map Yomok points to the location of where the door to the Crypt should be,"We need to look around here" he stated pointing to a section of the wall, "Well that's if the map is to be trusted" he added.
You search the area where the secret door is suppossed to be and come up with nothing.
Trisa speaks up " Isn't it seem odd to you that the one room back there was full of crates of junk and rubble, its as if it was put there to hide something"
(( you have about three hours left till dark ))
"That room with the boulder trap may be worth having a closer look. Someone went to a lot of trouble to keep people out" smiled the halfling.
You're right, Trinsa. There's another way out, I'm sure of it. Athena has helped us thus far and won't let us down now. Back to the rubble-room then
Once the group is back at the rubble filled room, Griff will begin examining the walls more closely and the floor to see if he can spot anything out of the ordinary that may be a hidden passage.
Using his inborn skills, Yomok tried to check the walls visible to him to see if there was any noticeable change to the brick work.
You search around the front of the room there is nothing there, the room is filled with crates and the crates are filled with rubble and garbage Keestake went through alot of trouble stacking up useless stuff in crates.
"Maybe the door or passage way entrance is in the floor. We should move the crates that held the boulders out of the way and look underneath" spoke the halfling as he scratched his head trying to figure out where the hidden door could be located.
"Aye good halfling it could very well be behind the crates" Cale said
Griff beamed. He so loved praise. He doesn't get this kind of validation at home and was really enjoying himself until he realized that the crates filled with rocks might be to heavy for him to move alone. "Well, let's have a look! Lend a hand all and let's move these crates out of the way!" sang the halfling.
Yomok lent a hand at moving the crates, splitting open the occasional one, just to see if there was anything of use inside.
It was laborious work and it often took two people to move the crates but after about an hour you managed to reach the back of the room.
It was Griff who found the secret door. The door opens easily and there is a rough corridor cut out of the natural rock stretching out into the darkness.
From the shaft you entered the catacombs you think you could hear the sound of digging
Griff was positively ecstatic! "We're going to live....we're going to live...." he began his impromptu singing of his new favorite song as he looked over the door for traps and maybe how to open it if it was locked.
edit last post
He peered into the darkness of the corridor, trying to spy the source of the digging.
The digging is coming from the shaft from up stairs where the group entered the catacombs behind you
"The orcs and goblins must be trying to get into the catacombs " Cale said
