    Just keeping y'all posted :)

Sorry for the mega dump of news this morning, it's just that when we have news, we share it right away!

P.S. No, I do not yet know the price or the ETA on Breakdown for PC. The former is up to Microsoft, and the latter depends on how keyboard implementation goes.

  2. Would you be able to elaborate on what you mean by "off to microsoft"? Does this mean the DLC is in the final stages?

I'd say the answer to that is most likely yes. It is Microsoft we're talking about here.

I'll be seriously disapointed if this DLC contains nothing but a new map with more useless [to me] story content.

want sandbox elements. More housing spots, more survivor traits, more crafting, etc.

[I don't give] a shit about stories in video games. They are like stories in porns.

  12. You should read the notes dude, Breakdown is 100% focused on sandbox mode.

First off this statement is wrong. Many people love stories in games, just because you don't doesn't mean everyone feels the same. Second, this DLC will be devoid of story content as that's not its aim. Sandbox elements will certainly be included as it was originally called Sandbox mode. I doubt there will be new base locations, as the amount of work to add them would be quite large. Finally, crafting was something that was considered for the initial release but was ultimately cut due in part to space limitations.

Remind them it's not a mac, and we buy Windows.

Every company around nowdays seem to be throwing out the word "sandbox" about their game, when in reality, they seem to have no fucking clue what a sandbox actually is.
Some few examples of games who claim to be sandbox, but really isnt: Red Dead Redemption, DayZ, Darkfall Unholy Wars, etc.
Some games that ARE sandboxes, and not just sandbox elements: Planet Explorers, Rust, Castle Story.

At the moment I wouldn't consider SoD a true sandbox, it's still just got great sandbox elements.

I can name maybe two games with good story. Metal Gear Solid & Spec Ops: The Line.
I'm having a hard time coming up with more.

There is allready a simple form of crafting in the game trough workshops and medical areas. They only need to add more items to it.

Good stories to you perhaps, but others such as myself find value in many different game stories. As to the crafting element, should Undead Labs decide to expand on it, I'd of course be very welcoming. However, based on statements they've made in the past I don't think it's something they wish to focus on in SoD. Class4 is another story though.

A game having a good story or not is a matter of perspective and opinion. Let's not make assumptions about other people's opinions.

  18. At the moment yes but again did you read all the articles about Breakdown? It seems like a true sandbox game.

Hitom, please settle down a little. No one here is your enemy. Your opinions are important, but please, speak only for yourself. I edited your post before it derailed the whole thread.

It also sounds like this expansion may not be what you want it to be. There are two other design articles already up, along with followup Q&As. But short version, we couldn't do a new map and launch the DLC this year. There isn't new crafting stuff. There are some new characters to be earned and unlocked, and they carry new weapons.

The purpose of this DLC was to add difficulty and more of a long-term experience. No story, just survival.

ones you complete it its just the same story lets face it what still keeps games like skyrim around are not just mods. but the fact that you have a world to explore and craft. its that openness. SOD has that two but its limited because of the 2g limit of xbox. none the less i am one of those that did not enjoy the story a second time and am looking forward to breakdown as the legitimate arcade game. however i to wish they would add more crafting in the game. i dont think we will see another DLC after this. and if there is i dont think it will be game changing.
