Well, I'm hovering on breakdown level 3, and have to say that I'm having a dilemma.
I have 2 people with horticulture- The "Gardener" hero, and a guy named Carlos with Powerhouse. I've had Carlos since I settled on Breakdown level 1, and have no clue which one I should take. I suppose that the Powerhouse (Carlos) Will be better in the long run, but I really do like that edged weapons specialist.
    Anyone got any ideas? :p

You can put edged weapons on a powerhouse.

I know that, but if you had to choose between 2 survivors, one with edged mastery and one with powerhouse...?

You can have a powerhouse with Edge Mastery as well.

Heavy Weapon better at fighting against hoard while Edge Weapon better at small skirmish, still, Edge Weapon got one problem, fighting against Special Zombie.

For venom hitman: I know that, but I need to use the RV- I cleared out my supplies- And I need to choose one or the other.

For FreedomFighter: Heavy Weapons and Powerhouse are completely different- Powerhouse is a trait, heavy weapons is a mastery skill.

Why would anyone use Heavy Weapon on other character that's not Powerhouse anyway?

Powerhouse characters use less stamina with Heavy Weapons and have more control with light Machine Guns. Which is why every powerhouse I have uses nothing but Heavy Weapons. I'd say that if you plan on doing a lot of looting with one of those characters take the powerhouse.

Go for the Powerhouse then, thats the obvious choice.

For that awesome sweep move that easily kills 3-4 zombies effortlessly in one swing. I used to only give weapons based exclusively on traits: my heavy weapons to powerhouses, edged weapons to nimble characters, and blunt weapons to everyone else...but then I realized that blunt weapons really suck and I hated having one of my good survivors have a crappy blunt weapon. The uppercut or spinning attack is ok in lower levels, but not that effective in higher levels. So now I give any of my non-nimble and non-powerhouse characters (that I want to take with me on the RV at least) heavy weapons anyway. It does apparently use a little more stamina, but once you have them at a decent cardio, I don't really notice it much difference.

So now I only give blunt weapons to the characters I don't plan on taking with me.

I beleive that powerhous killing blow chance combines with edges weapons high kill chance to make it very nasty when both are maxed out... lots of single shot quick killing.

Eli isn't a powerhouse, but is a heavy weapons specialist, and he's fun to play. Just get rid of the crazy wrench, and give him an axe, and he is no more loaded down than someone carrying an expanable baton. I think the hoe, and hockey stick are even lighter. You don't need powerhouse to carry 2 handed weapons. It's the Heavy guns you want powerhouse for.

And maybe edged. I'm going to check that one out. How do you deal with ferals alone without spin kick? Can you supplex them?

Blades are a great way to deal with hordes too. No problem with multykills with one swing.
Still don't have any HW specialist. Think it's time to make one. :)

My take, go heavy weapons for powerhouses, their usage bonus makes it the most effective overall weapon class for them.

Method 1) roll when they leap, run over and smash em in da head.
Method 2) Let them (if you even have the choice) jump you, when you kick them off, run over and smash dem in da 'ead!

Also in my experience, if you have the bullet-time aiming perk, the ferals won't be able to avoid the shot like they do without it.

Thanks Karsted. I knew about those two, I was just curious if there was a way to make it as easy as:

Method 3) Spam spin kick, as it will not go off until the feral is in range (1,) run over and cut open their head.

1- At least with a controller, not sure if it has the same behavior with the keyboard. Also note this is due to the ferals speed. It will kick early against slow zombies... can't remember if it still connects on the slow ones.
