    Protective circles don't get larger when they touch anymore, do they? It seems like that used to be a thing, but I haven't seen it.

    That was never a thing.

    The area gets larger when you arm the traps, which costs 1 fuel resource.

    or you are playing with QMJS mod, which has one research that increases the outpost area.

    Well, look at that. At the fairgrounds, you can actually claim the military stash tents and the restroom buildings as outposts. Even the crashed helicopter across the street.

    Some of those smaller structures won't actually have a locker in them, but yeah...

    I just wasn't expecting it after finding those smaller storage sheds can't be claimed.

    There's also a perfectly normal-looking warehouse in Lifeline that isn't flagged as a structure, so it can't be claimed. Has resources in it and everything, the game just thinks you're standing outside.
