Hey guys. So we've some work-arounds happening right now for some of the bugs that you are reporting.

This doesn't mean that we're not going to continue to work on bugs. It just means that we have a solution for you for "right now".

If you run into a work around that we haven't posted here - please send me a PM with the bug and the fix and we'll add it here after we've confirmed whether or not it works. :)

As always, thank you for everything you guys do to help us make our games better!

Edit: Work arounds are coming soon. We were testing to see if Nate could post in closed threads. He can't - so we're refining the process.

If you are experiencing issues with the game not fitting properly on your screen -

    Overscan
    :

Currently the game does not offer any overscan correction.

On PC you can set overscan using AMD Catalyst Control Center, intel graphics tray, or Nvidia control panel.

Xbox One does not have an inbuilt overscan settings, so instead the TV picture mode can be adjusted. Set the Picture Mode on your TV according to the following settings:

    • LG: Just Scan
    • Samsung: Screen Fit
    • Sharp: Dot-by-Dot
    • Vizio: Wide
    • Sony: Full Pixel
    • Toshiba: Native (Normal may also work)
    • For other manufacturers we recommend looking for “Normal”, “1:1”, or any variant of Screen Fit

Directx11: If you are getting error messages related to DX11 you should try any/all of the following:

    • Ensure your graphics card is DX11 capable!

    • Update Video Card drivers, DirectX11, and run Windows Update.

    • Press Win+R (windows key + R) and type DXDIAG. Check for the following:
      • System Tab - DirectX Version: DirectX 11

      • Display 1 - DDI Version: 11 (all displays must have DDI 11)

      • Click “Run 64-bit DxDiag” and ensure that all of the above are true in the 64 bit report
    • If DXDIAG reports DDI as being 10.1 in x86 (32-bit), but 11 in x64, try this hotfix: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/975243

    • If you have an ‘alternate’ connection-type monitor, such as USB, take a look at this forum post. Specifically page 4: https://forums.undeadlabs.com/threads/bug-error-msg.48219/

    16:10 Aspect Ratio:

We are aware of a few issues related to setting the aspect ratio to 16:10.

    General Issues:

    • Many one-off issues can be resolved by restarting the title itself, rebooting the PC, or rebooting the Xbox One.
      • Xbox One: Hold the power button for 7 seconds for a full shutdown. Alternatively you can power the console down normally, remove the power cord for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. (This also works to clear the Cache)
    • At times the Xbox One save may become corrupted due to a variety of reasons. You can download a backup copy from Xbox Live:
      • Enter My Games and Apps and highlight State of Decay

      • Press the Menu Button and select Manage Game

      • Navigate to the right and select your savedata (it will have your personal gamer pic)

      • Select “Delete from Console”

      • Next time you launch SoD it will download a copy of your save from Xbox Live

If you are unable to save the game -

Make sure your user still has full access permissions on the Steam folder.

Go to <Program Files (x86)> and right-click the steam folder > properties >Security tab >Advanced(under permissions). Click Change Permissions and then select Add. Type in your username in the box, and check "Full Control" then select ok/apply. This will add the same permission to all sub-folders.

The saves for SoD go directly into the game folder, so permissions can be wonky with Windows sometimes. If none of this works try running the game as an administrator.

Note: if you are running 32-bit Windows then this will be under <Program Files>

Unable to Install Lifeline or Breakdown from a Disc -
When a user installs off of a disc, there are three packages that have to be installed in order for the game to work correctly:
    1. The Core Game
    2. Breakdown
    3. Lifeline

The current install order on disk asks for the Core Game to install first. We don’t have any way to force an install from the disc as a title is never aware of where the install came from (disc or digital download). This means that if you try to play the game before the installation is completely finished, you will interrupt the process. In-addition the console may attempt to download and install updates concurrently to the primary install, which can cause issues.

If the you have experienced an incomplete installation scenario, you should try performing the following:
    1. Remove YOSE disc
    2. Uninstall everything (Highlight YOSE > Press Menu Button > Manage Game > Manage All drop-down > Uninstall All)
    3. Disconnect the console from the internet, either by disconnecting wifi or the ethernet cable.
    4. Hard reboot console (hold the power button for 7 seconds).
    5. Insert the disc and allow it to install (still offline).
    6. DO NOT START GAME. Give the installation time to install all packages (still offline).
    7. Eject disc (still offline).
    8. Hard reboot console (still offline).
    9. Insert disc and wait for a few moments. If the DLC did not install during step [5] it will hopefully install now (still offline).
    10. Reconnect internet, launch YOSE and allow the game to update.

    Clearing your Cache -

    1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.
    2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
    3. Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.
    4. Plug the power cable back into the console.
    5. Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
    6. Turn on the console using the power button.
    OR

    • Settings -Blu ray/Disc- clear persistent memory - repeat 3 times
    • network - advanced setting - alternate MAC address - clear
