    Destruction and Creation

    by Panic!atSkyfall

Soleste was the brightest of all the gods. Her smile radiated happiness and every where she roamed she brought warmth and joy. Her and her partner Lunis spread light throughout the universe. He shone brightly as well but never as bright as Soleste. He adored her and followed her everywhere she went. They roamed the universe shedding light onto the palaces of the gods. Each god ruled a planet of beings that worshiped them. The patrons would throw elaborate parties for the gods to attend to seeking the gods presence. They danced around the planets for thousands of years. Soleste and Lunis would then move onto another god’s home where another party was being thrown. Soleste loved the attention. She felt like she was the center of the universe.

She wanted to have a party with all the gods. She wanted everyone to look at her. Her call echoed to the gods as they gathered round her. They encircled her. But as the gods came Lunis got pushed away. He tried squeezing in amongst the guests but he couldn’t fit. He shouted for her. Surely she would notice he was missing from her side. But she didn’t, she was too focused on all the attention she got. The gods danced around her as she glowed. Lunis was heartbroken and angry. The light in him dimmed. He wanted so much to be by her side and felt hurt that she didn’t care or pine for or miss him. In anger and frustration he ripped out his now stone cold heart and threw it as far as he could. The glowing heart got caught by the sweet god Eartha. She looked back and realized who the heart belonged to and and carried it with her in her dance. She remembered how Lunis and Soleste had always been together. She danced with his heart to show what Soleste had done to Lunis. The glowing heart guided Eartha even when she didn’t face Soleste. When Soleste caught sight of the glowing cold stone heart, she froze and realized what she had done. She curled in on herself ashamed that she had caused someone sadness instead of joy. She knew she couldn’t face Lunis again. So she would forever stand at the center of the party as the rest of the gods danced around her too ashamed to face him. Defeated and crushed, Lunis continued to circle Soleste but as a lesser god. Small and insignificant but always there on the outer edge. Without his heart he wasn’t himself. He was dark and small and cold so he gained the nickname Plutony. His heart continued to glow though, fueled by the compassion from Eartha. It lights up those near as a reminder. Those who see the heart’s light will never forget the love Plutony had for Soleste. He may be small but he would never be forgotten as long as Eartha held Lunis’ heart close by.

    Luna's Secret
    by QuarantineRoad

Out there, they call you Moon,
A barren rock born of thousands,
    Castaway of the Earth,
    Watching us from birth,
    Eternal, though not in form,
Such as is all, in this mortal existence,
    Gray and lifeless,
Your origin, their only true curiosity,
Some might say, little more than a nightlight,
A Terran born child who plays in Gaia's bath,
    A hand-mirror to the Sun,
    Father Sol, who gave life,
And in radiant death, will take it back,
If he can catch us, then.

Why then, do I feel else?
For on this land so far away, I am a moth,
You, like a sweet candle in a sour dream,
The one who I call to, so that She may hear me,
She who has many names, and none,
    As you do,
A door to places we may never know,
You, who I look to when no longer contented by loneliness,
    Enfeebled by fear and hopelessness,
And in the caring fire of your serenity, I am tempered,
    Hearing with my heart,
Held further by the gentle whispers of our Mother, Nature,
When not in reverence of her unbound ferocity,
And that of her unbridled children,
Until I am reminded of my own strength.

Why, Luna, do I see you this way?
    A messenger to the Heavens,
A Goddess in your own right,
A torch to ward off the ageless dark,
    These thoughts,
Perhaps, remnants from the old world,
    Ghosts of our ancestors,
Of a people and time, lost beneath stone and soil,
Of old gods, and spirits, and rituals, forgotten,
Who knew truths known no longer,
Or the imagined fantasy from a guarded mind,
Of art, and books, and film in motion,
    Emotions and dreams,
Giving life to that which has none, and shall never be,
As I have in stories such as these.

    Only eternity may tell,
If you do not tell me, yourself.

    The Lunatic

The moon's light is the light of the sun.
    Reflected.
    She is a mirror,
    The sun is the face.

We all need something to reflect,
Some form of light to channel.
But what happens when we lose that light?
What happens when our surface does not reflect?

We absorb the light into ourselves,
    Sharing it not.
The light within us does not continue to burn.
    The light becomes cold, empty.

    It loses it's shine,
Seeps out of us as light no longer.
    Darkness.
    A violent transformation.

What was once light is now dark.
What was once good is now bad.
What was once right is now wrong.
What was once faith is now fear.

Everything transforms as we keep it to ourselves.
We must set them free to let their light continue to shine.
We must be mirrors to reflect their light out into the world.
Because if we don't reflect the light then we become the dark.

It is too late for me, Anne.
    I have not reflected.
    I have only absorbed.
I only take, even as you have given.

But I can find the light again.
    I know I can.
    The light is everywhere now.
    It is in everyone.

I am the last of the darkness.
And if I go the darkness will go with me.
And then your light will shine everywhere.
Without the suffocation of the dark.

    I am a mirror.
    You are the face.
    I am a mirror.
    You are the face.
    I am a mirror.
    You are the face.
    I am a mirror.
    You are the
